Stainless Steel Self Locking nuts

Traditionally to prevent a nut from working loose, a second 'locking' nut was placed on the bolt - but they too could work loose. Self-locking nuts have an in-built sytem to prevent them working loose. We have two available designs

• All metal Stiff nut with no inserts
• Can be re-used
• Will stay in position whether tightened down or not
• No special tools required
• When assembled on the screw, 2 full threads should protrude through the nut
• In the store, all dimensions are given against each size of lock nut

 

 

Prevailing torque nuts are a versatile locking nut without inserts. They can be used in similar applications to the more widely known designs from Aerotight, Nylock, Staytight and Philidas
